Capturing Life's Special Moments

Jen & Ryan | Wedding

Jen & Ryan | Wedding

Weddings are such a joy to photograph; I love being able to share in your special day capturing timeless images of all the festivities and details. Especially when it’s two of your most favourite people in the world, 10 years in the making, I feel honoured to be part of the celebration and capture all these special moments. 👰🤵
The day started with a glimmer of sunshine, giving us hope that the forecast was wrong and the rain would hold off ♥  Jen was calm and radiant as we went to a local salon in Owen Sound to have her and Madi’s hair done.  As we returned to the  hotel to get makeup and dressed, the clouds started to form and sure enough as soon as the ceremony started, it poured….more rain than I’ve ever seen at a wedding before, but I’ve always been told that is a sign of good luck!  If the amount of rain is any indication, Jen and Ryan’s marriage is blessed with Good luck for many years to come 🙂

There is an old saying that a wet knot is harder to untie than a dry knot which binds the marriage tighter together.  I’m not sure where the saying comes from, but I think it’s a beautiful sentiment and definitely applies here.

The tents setup in the Garden at Jen’s Dad’s country home provided much appreciated shelter for all the guests who arrived by school bus.  This was such a unique experience for everyone, such a fun idea to transport the guests from the reception location to the ceremony and back again.

Ryan cleaned up well too and looked so handsome with little Sebastian by his side waiting for Jen and the girls to arrive.  The ceremony was so emotional and beautiful starting with a “proper” proposal by Ryan 🙂 Followed by beautiful vows they wrote themselves.  Everyone placed daisy’s into a beautiful crystal vase that was lit by tiny lights as a tribute to those no longer with us.  And a special tribute to Jen’s Mom as daisy’s were her favourite flower.  The couple opted for a picture frame in lieu of a guest book that had little wooden hearts that you could place a wish on for the couple.  The hearts were then placed in the frame so that they could display it and enjoy it for years to come.  A big thank you to all the guests who braved the cold and rain to attend.

The ceremony was followed by some formal portraits, as much as we could do given the weather and then everyone headed to Joe Tomatoes for the reception and a lovely dinner.  The food was delicious at Joe Tomatoes and enjoyed by all.  When I think of this wedding, I think of how Jen went above and beyond to bring her vision to life, including baking her own wedding cake that was equally beautiful and tasty.

I try to keep these little recaps of the day to go along with the gallery of images as short as possible, I keep wanting to write more because I can`t really find the words to express how touching, beautiful, emotional, radiant this wedding truly was.  I hope as you browse through the images below, you`ll catch a glimpse of how special it really was.

This was one of the most special events I’ve witnessed.
Here’s to Love, Light, Laughter and Happily Ever After! 🥂🍾xoxo
